ENDIALE remains firmly in first place in Europe in 2025 in the management of Waste Lubricating Oils (WLO)

Press Release

31 March 2026

ENDIALE S.A., the National Collective System for the Alternative Management of Waste Lubricating Oils (WLO), confirmed once again Greece’s leading role in Europe in the management of waste lubricating oils, presenting the results of its 2025 activities at a special press luncheon.

According to the data presented, out of 38,610 tonnes of waste lubricants generated, 31,448 tonnes were collected, representing 81% of the total waste lubricating oils produced. This exceeded the national collection target by 16%, while 100% of the collected quantity was sent for regeneration, compared with a national target of 70%.

As part of the continuous upgrading of the System, the following were also presented:

  • Investments in modern infrastructure, including the relocation of the Kavala Collection Centre to company-owned facilities in the Kavala Industrial Area and the modernization of the Thessaloniki Collection Centre.
  • The creation of the Electronic Identification Form application (e-Form), which replaces the handwritten forms previously completed at all stages of waste lubricating oil management. The new application makes a decisive contribution to increasing the speed, transparency, and reliability of the management process.
  • The purchase of new analytical instruments aimed at improving the quality control procedures for waste lubricating oils.
  • The development of partnerships with similar organizations, such as the Italian collective WLO management system CONOU, with the goal of exchanging know-how and best practices, as well as creating a European network for the alternative management of waste lubricating oils.
  • The continuation of the public awareness programme, with participation in the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), the Verde Tec trade exhibition for the environment and circular economy, information campaigns in shopping centres, the broadcast of an informational spot at Autovision and KTEO Hellas vehicle inspection centres, as well as on nationwide television channels in the form of a public service announcement.

Mr. Giorgos Deligiorgis, CEO of ENDIALE S.A., stated:

“For yet another year, we are proving through our daily work and measurable results that our country is at the forefront of waste lubricating oil management. We continue with consistency, investing in infrastructure upgrades, the introduction of innovation, the development of international partnerships, and public awareness, aiming for even greater achievements and multiple benefits for society, public health, and the environment.”
