ENDIALE–CONOU Working Meeting

Athens, 23 October 2025

ENDIALE, the National Collective System for the Alternative Management of Waste Lubricating Oils (WLO), had the opportunity to host CONOU, Italy’s corresponding National System for the alternative management of WLO, for a three-day collaboration held on 20–22 October 2025.

The initiative for the meeting came from ENDIALE and aimed at exchanging experience and know-how on WLO management and the Circular Economy.

The meeting agenda included topics such as:

  1. Ways to promote and showcase the beneficial outcomes of the re-refining of waste lubricating oils for the environment, public health, and the economy, in order to raise awareness among policymakers and citizens.
  2. Strengthening research and technology, in cooperation with educational and research institutions, to protect the environment based on Circular Economy best practices, to support sustainable industrial production, and to derive reliable scientific data.
  3. Collaboration to jointly take the initiative to establish a network of European alternative management systems for WLO.

ENDIALE S.A.’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Γιώργος Δεληγιώργης, stated:

“Dialogue, cooperation, and the exchange of best practices are a necessary precondition for even greater achievements in the alternative management of waste lubricating oils. In this context, we had the opportunity for a productive three-day session with one of the most successful European systems for the re-refining of lubricants, namely the Italian CONOU, whose delegation I would like to sincerely thank for this constructive collaboration. We continue, every day, to serve our commitment to the best possible efficiency in the alternative management of waste lubricating oils, delivering benefits for all and putting the Circular Economy into practice.”

CONOU President Mr. Riccardo Piunti stated:

“I am particularly grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and discuss with ENDIALE’s management the principles, standards, and organizational model of the Circular Economy, as well as its application to waste lubricating oils in our countries, which are at the forefront in Europe.”
