20 YEARS OF ENDIALE: THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN PRACTICE

ENDIALE S.A., the National Collective Alternative Management System for Waste Lubricating Oils, presented its significant contribution to the environment, public health and society, during its twenty years of operation, which are completed this year, at a special press luncheon today.

From 2004 to date, ENDIALE has collected and regenerated more than 560,000 metric tons of waste lubricating oils, thus managing to: Prevent the pollution of a water surface area equal to the area of Evia.

Limit the production of CO₂ emissions to an amount equal to that which 9.5 million trees would need to absorb. Reduce emissions of carcinogenic compounds by 96.8% and emissions of suspended particles in the atmosphere, which are associated with respiratory diseases, by 74%.

Save energy, equal to the energy consumed by a city of 25,000 inhabitants in 1 year.

It is noted that this year ENDIALE recorded a waste lubricant collection rate of 74% (compared to 40% A.V. in the EU) and a regeneration rate of 100% of the collected quantities (compared to only 61.2% A.V. in the EU), as in all recent years, consistently exceeding national targets and making Greece the European champion in the regeneration of lubricating oils.

The CEO of ENDIALE, Mr. George Deligiorgis stated in this regard: "This year we celebrate 20 years of successful operation, and we are particularly proud of our results, which demonstrate that at ENDIALE we are implementing the circular economy in practice. The value we add to the environment, public health and society is the result of our collaboration with all members of the System, as well as with aware consumers. Together we are achieving our country's European leadership in the collection and regeneration of waste lubricating oils, and we continue with a plan and dynamism to conquer new peaks."
