On an annual basis, the global market for lubricating oils is around 40 million. tons.
The European market accounts for approximately 19% of the above consumption, while in Greece it is estimated that approximately 50,000 tons of lubricating oils are placed on the market annually.
The base oils required for the production of 50,000 tons of lubricating oils are in the order of 45,000 tons.
The collection of waste base oils amounts to 60% of consumption, i.e. 27,000 tons, all of which ( 100% ) are re-refined .
From the above process, re-refined base oils of the order of 74% , i.e. 24,000 tons, are produced, which are re-entered into the market by replacing a corresponding amount of primary base oils.
